In the early hours of October 6th, 2025, heavy rainfall in upstream areas caused rivers and streams to rise rapidly. By around 1:00 p.m. on October 7th, due to TUAF’s geographical location between two major water sources — Nui Coc Reservoir and the Cau River, floodwaters surged quickly, isolating the entire campus while water levels continued to rise, directly threatening the safety of students and lecturers.
During the visit, Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong expressed his hope that, with solidarity, mutual support, and assistance from local authorities and relevant forces, the university would soon complete cleanup efforts, rebuild damaged facilities, and restore training and research operations to normal conditions.
After inspecting the site, the Secretary highly appreciated the university’s strong determination and timely response, noting that TUAF had effectively implemented the “Four-On-the-Spot” principle (on-site command, on-site manpower, on-site materials, and on-site logistics) to handle the emergency situation.
Despite extremely difficult and dangerous conditions, the university successfully ensured the absolute safety of all students.
