This event served as a meaningful opportunity for Lao students far from home to gather and celebrate the New Year according to their cherished traditions. The program featured a variety of unique cultural activities, including traditional dances, the sacred string-tying ceremony to bring good luck, the water-splashing ritual for blessings, and vibrant performances along with traditional Lao cuisine.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of representatives from the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation, the Office of Advanced Programs, lecturers, staff members, as well as a large number of Vietnamese and international students. The celebration not only fostered unity and cultural exchange among students from different countries but also strengthened the bond of friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
Bunpimay is one of the most significant and meaningful festivals of the Lao people, symbolizing the farewell to the old year and welcoming the new one with wishes for peace and good fortune. Organizing this traditional celebration on campus helped ease homesickness among Lao students and showed the care and support from the university and the international student community.
