On October 20th, 2025, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) was honored to welcome a delegation from the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam for a visit and working session at the university.

Representing the Lao Embassy, the delegation was led by Dr. Kham Tanh Somvong – Education and Cultural Counsellor, accompanied by Mr. Khamla Phommakhoth – Second Secretary.

From TUAF, the meeting was attended by Dr. Nguyen Chi Hieu – Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector, together with leaders of university departments and offices, as well as Lao students currently studying at TUAF.

The visit took place in the context that Thai Nguyen Province had recently been affected by Typhoon Matmo (Storm No. 11), which caused some damage to facilities and disrupted the lives of staff, lecturers, and students.

With the purpose of sharing encouragement and support, especially for Lao students studying at the university, the Embassy’s delegation kindly visited, extended warm regards, and presented meaningful gifts of essential supplies — a gesture that demonstrated the deep care and solidarity of the Lao Embassy toward Lao students in Vietnam.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the study and living conditions of Lao students, as well as future directions for cooperation to further strengthen the friendly relationship and collaboration between TUAF and the Embassy of Laos in Vietnam.

The working session took place in a warm, open, and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the Embassy’s genuine concern for international education and student welfare, and contributing to the continued flourishing of the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
