During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Hung – Chairman of the University Council of TUAF – emphasized the critical role of international cooperation in advancing education and scientific research, particularly in the fields of agriculture-forestry and environmental studies. He affirmed that the collaboration between TUAF and UNU would open many opportunities not only in joint research and international project development but also in the training of high-quality human resources at an international level.

Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Ha – Director of the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development – stated that the Institute is always ready to serve as a bridge for collaboration and proposed initiatives to foster deeper cooperation in the areas of natural resource protection, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and responses to global climate change.
On behalf of UNU, Mr. Eike Christoph Behre – Project Manager at UNU – expressed strong support for the partnership between the two universities. He emphasized that collaborative research projects in agriculture, forestry, environmental protection, and climate change response can make a significant global impact. He also reaffirmed UNU’s commitment to supporting joint research and training exchange programs aimed at sustainable development and tackling global environmental challenges.

After the meeting, the UNU representatives toured the university campus and visited the Climate Park to learn about the LEARN-VN project currently being implemented by the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development. TUAF, the Institute of Forestry and Sustainable Development, and UNU agreed to develop a long-term strategic partnership and co-propose several joint research projects, particularly in forestry, climate change, and sustainable development.
