Receiving the delegation were Dr. Nguyen Chi Hieu – Secretary of the Party Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Quang – Rector of TUAF, together with the university’s Board of Rectors and heads of departments.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Quang shared that due to the impact of Typhoon No. 11, many production models, nurseries, experimental farms, laboratories, and livestock facilities of the university were severely flooded and damaged, with estimated losses exceeding 40 billion VND.
In addition, several lecturers and students suffered property damage and home flooding.
During the days of power and water outages caused by the flood, the university operated backup generators in the Central Building to provide electricity and water for students from TUAF and other member universities of Thai Nguyen University, enabling them to charge their phones and maintain communication with families.
The university also mobilized benefactors to sponsor over 1,000 free meals for students stranded during the flood.
Furthermore, TUAF implemented a support package of 2 million VND per affected staff member and 300,000 VND per affected student.
Once the flood subsided, the Youth Union mobilized volunteers to clean and disinfect facilities to restore normal operations.
At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Van Tao, Secretary of the Party Committee of Thai Nguyen University, commended TUAF’s proactive, responsible, and united spirit in disaster response and recovery efforts, especially the university’s timely and compassionate support for its students.
He expressed sympathy for the difficulties faced by TUAF staff and students and encouraged them to overcome challenges, restore facilities, and resume teaching and learning activities as soon as possible.
Also on the morning of October 17th, 2025, a delegation from BAF Vietnam Agriculture Joint Stock Company visited TUAF to express solidarity and provide support to the university following the typhoon.
Mr. Nguyen Van Minh – Deputy General Director of BAF Vietnam, affirmed that the company would invest in new livestock research models at TUAF to help restore and strengthen the university’s research and training capacity after the disaster.
