On 29 June 2026, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) welcomed Dr. Sara Lopez Gomollon and Proffesor Michelle Dawn Garrett from the University of Kent, United Kingdom, for a working visit aimed at strengthening academic and research collaboration.

During the meeting, representatives of TUAF and Dr. Sara Lopez Gomollon, Proffesor Michelle Dawn Garrett discussed potential areas of cooperation in scientific research, education, and capacity building. The discussions explored opportunities to foster collaboration between TUAF and the University of Kent through joint research projects, academic exchanges, research networking, and future international collaborative initiatives.

Following the meeting, Dr. Sara Lopez Gomollon delivered a seminar entitled:

"Molecular Regulation of Madecassic Acid: A Plant-Derived Antitumoral Compound."

During the seminar, Dr. Sara presented recent findings on the molecular regulation of madecassic acid, a naturally occurring plant-derived compound with promising antitumoral properties. The presentation highlighted the molecular mechanisms underlying its biological activity and discussed the potential of natural products as valuable resources for biomedical and pharmaceutical research, particularly in the development of novel anticancer strategies.

The seminar attracted a large audience of faculty members, researchers, staff, and students. An engaging discussion session followed, providing valuable opportunities for scientific exchange, sharing research experiences, and exploring future collaborative research initiatives between TUAF and the University of Kent.

The visit marked another important step in strengthening the partnership between TUAF and the University of Kent while offering the university community valuable insights into cutting-edge research in molecular biology, plant-derived bioactive compounds, and their potential applications in medicine and pharmaceutical sciences.
