On April 15, 2026, Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry officially inaugurated the Thai Nguyen Climate Park, a meaningful initiative with strong scientific, educational, and community values. The project aims to raise awareness and inspire action in response to climate change.

The ceremony welcomed distinguished guests, including H.E. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam; Dr. Kathrin Strobel, representative of the sponsor Bread for the World; along with international organizations, university leaders, local authorities, business partners, and a large number of faculty members and students.

Spanning over 15 hectares within the university campus, the Climate Park is designed as an open learning space that integrates scientific research, practical experience, and environmental education. Key features include climate change adaptation models, biodiversity-rich green spaces, sustainable agriculture experimental areas, and interactive information displays to enhance public understanding.

In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Quang, Rector of the University, emphasized that the Climate Park is not only a symbolic project but also a foundation for advancing research, education, and international collaboration in climate change, ecological agriculture, and sustainable development. It also serves as a bridge connecting the university with the community, promoting green and environmentally friendly values.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha highlighted that climate change is a global challenge requiring collective efforts, especially from higher education institutions in leading research, training, and knowledge dissemination for sustainable development.

The launch of the Climate Park marks an important milestone in the university’s development strategy, reinforcing its pioneering role in training high-quality human resources and conducting research for sustainable agriculture and environmental protection. In the future, the university plans to expand activities within the park and organize experiential programs, workshops, and training sessions to engage students and the wider community.

The ceremony concluded in a formal and joyful atmosphere, opening new expectations for a green, creative, and sustainable space within the university campus.
