Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van - Vice President of Thai Nguyen University, acknowledged the interest of the leaders of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry in quality assurance in general and training quality in particular. He wished that this assessment would be an opportunity for the University to review the quality assurance activities for the assessed training disciplines through the recommendations of the assessors and continue to promote strengths and overcome limitations to perfect and improve training quality.

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van thanked and highly appreciated the role of the AUN-QA organization in contributing to improving the efficiency and training quality of universities in ASEAN. In particular, in the complicated context of the COVID-19 pandemic in the past 2 years, AUN-QA has shown a very quick adaptation to the “new normal” trend through the implementation of the remote assessment process.

On behalf of the assessment team, Prof. Dr. Wyona C.Patalinghug, Deputy Chairperson of AUN -QA, the leader of the assessment team sent greetings and highly appreciated the efforts of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry. During the pandemic, the university overcame common difficulties to conduct this online assessment. The closing session and presentation of preliminary evaluation results of training programs are expected to take place on the morning of April 8.

AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance) is a quality assurance organization of the Southeast Asian University Network, established in 1998, with the mission to promote quality assurance activities at educational higher education institutions; Improve the quality of higher education in the ASEAN region; Cooperate with regional and international agencies for the benefit of the ASEAN community. The AUN-QA standards set have specific and clear criteria, focusing on the comprehensive evaluation of the training program on many aspects such as output standards, program framework, teaching staff, facilities, and quality assurance work, connecting between schools, students, and businesses to ensure the quality of the entire training program.

Prof. Pakpong Pochanart (Land Management Program) with the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Wyona C.Patalinghug.
The assessment team is going to work with members in charge of assessing 03 training programs of Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry and relevant parties (employers, alumni, lecturers, support staff, students) from April 4 - 8, 2022.
